After a truly devastating miscarriage in November 2013 at 8 weeks our spirits were broken. Though our hearts were hurting we knew that everything happens for a reason and God has something else in store for us. As the days moved on Andrew and I allowed our love for one another and faith to heal and guide us. We got back into the swing of things and I had to make sure to keep focus as I prepared myself to complete my degree program (finals). In March of 2014 after completing my degree I started to feel a little under the weather, getting horrible headaches, and sleeping like crazy. To our surprise we took a test and found out we were expecting. Of course after receiving the news from our first pregnancy we were excited and scared we wanted to share but felt it would be best to keep the news at least until we confirmed with our doctor. We took a moment to pray before going into the doctors office...The time came and we were nervous to hear what the doctor was going to say we went in for our ultrasound and we had a mover and a shaker on our hands ladies and gentlemen and baby Cheng wanted his parents to know "I'm here!" Of course I cried and hubby smiled so big OMG! I think he was holding back the tears. Okay, tears dried up. The doctor came in and said "what's new you two?" (Andrew the first time connected with the doctor quickly through a barrage of questions he had written out and we absolutely love her.) So I say ummm "I'm pregnant" she and Andrew laugh and says yes you are. Of course she informed us the first trimester I would be monitored closely but she didn't really have any major concerns. She said continue to stay active so I did. My brother in laws birthday came and he wanted to do a family hike. Andrew and I were concerned and took precaution as we informed the family why I would need to move a little slower and of course this had to be top secret. Needless to say it was an absolutely beautiful hike that my brother in law didn't even make it to (boo!!!) But no issues and plenty of rest and FOOD afterward...YUMMY!!! If you know our families we love food...hee hee. Since then I've done a 5k walk/run and also got up very early (belly and all) to watch my hubby complete his first Half-Marathon. May 11th 13 weeks and 2 days we announced to family and friends on Facebook and shared the baby's heartbeat 165 bpm. I called my mother and the excitement and smile through the phone was a priceless moment. Knowing that she was going to be a grandmother was amazing and my grandmother felt the same. The reaction from Andrew's family was also exciting full of overwhelming love, support, and advice. I can't forget the reaction from my in laws too absolutley priceless with smiles and some screaming (not from Fred..hee hee) :)
