On October 19th 2016 we were blessed to have Aiden Tyrion Cheng 7 lbs 11 oz 20 inches long. He was delivered by C-section like his brother Ethan however this was doctor scheduled. Ethan is extremely loving to his brother and so helpful. He calls him “my baby” as we practice saying Aiden which he almost has down. (smiles) Aiden is a very smart and determined little guy especially when he wants to play with his brothers toys he has a serious grip…ha ha ha. Both are doing well and we are enjoying watching them grow. We have had our share of challenges juggling two kids but God is blessing us each day and continues to provide at just the right time which we are extremely thankful for. So far 2017 is off to new start and new chapters and experiences.

Let’s see what has happened in the last 15 months in a nut shell (kinda). Mommy went back to work in February 2015 and took the second part of her leave in October to bond more with Ethan. Mommy and Ethan flew out to Memphis to visit Gigi and Papa while daddy worked hard. Birthday month came and we had a Mickey Mouse themed party with a bouncer, piñata, a smash cake, cupcakes, the taco man, Abot (forgive the spelling) made her long life noodles (that Ethan loved). We enjoyed the celebration. On Ethan’s actual birthday he went to meet Mickey Mouse and it was priceless he stuck his hand in Mickey’s mouth…ha ha ha. J In December we traveled to Hawaii what an awesome and priceless experience it was with the family. One we want to experience again. To see and experience memories likes this through Ethan’s eyes is such a blessing. We have been saying mama, dada, Gigi, and Papa and just recently started saying “this” and pointing. On February 27th @ 12pm Ethan took his first steps and made his Gigi and Papa’s day since they had arrived that day. The smile on our faces were priceless so proud of him. He is such a happy little guy and continues to learn and surprise us every day. He can tell us where his nose, mouth, eyes, hair, and belly button are. We love you Ethan so much.
Hi Everyone!!!! Can you believe it I am a month old already and growing by the second, minute, and day. Let's see I currently love milk 80 ml. I love long strolls in my car seat around the house. Mom talks to me and tells me what I am looking at "blue sky, green trees, birds chirping, car passing by, and so much more. I enjoy sleeping on my stomach, rocking in the chair with mom and dad. I love sleeping on my moms chest and stomach and love listening to my daddy's heart beat which puts me to sleep. I laugh in my sleep. I don't like having a wet diaper, I like taking baths, but enjoy showers with my mom. Love lotion massages my dad gives and helps relaxing me so I can sleep. I love when my GG and Papa rock me to sleep and sing to me. My GG loves doing photo shoots while I'm sleeping and definitely when I'm awake and I occasionally give her a smile and some great shoots. She is my awesome photographer my mommy tells me....hee hee. I love looking at my puppy and he likes to sleep close to me and will check up on me when I'm upset and cry but always stays close by. I have gotten to meet many aunties, uncles, great aunties, and great grandparent. My great grandmother Minnie Jennings passed which was very hard for my mom and dad since we weren't able to travel back for the service because my mom and dad didn't want me to get sick with the bad weather that was in North Carolina and I didn't have all of my shots yet.
Information about great grandma: http://shar.es/1HxfbK Minnie Bell Jennings, 80, of Robersonville, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014. Funeral Service 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Williamston. So it looks like Ethan is the winner of the fantasy due date. GG and I went to the doctor Monday November 17th to see how things were moving along to our surprise nothing was happening not dilated and water not broken. Hmmm Ethan was too comfortable and enjoying his accommodations a little too much. hee hee The doctor suggested after a few visit to see and my blood pressure being somewhat high she asked if I wanted to be induced. At this point yes she said okay go to the hospital at 1:00pm to get a pill to start the process. Yesm Ethan was getting evicted from his belly accommodations. We decided to go back to the house grab some food and the hospital bags just in case. What failed to be mentioned at the original doctors appointment was when they gave me the pill to induce I was begin admitted to the hospital. But of course we didn't know that when we arrived they took us in a delivery room where she said okay put the grown on. I said what do I need a grown for when I'm just taking a pill to induce me...the nurse giggled and said "oh no sweetie, your begin admitted." Uhhhh what was my reaction so had to text dad to be what was going on. As I got hooked up to the machines the nurse asked do you feel that...yea normal movement to me Ethan had been pushing outward on my stomach for a while and a little discomfort but we figured they were just braxton hicks. The nurse said "your actually having contractions and since they are so close together I can't give you the pill to start to induce me. Sigh okay...after several nurses and doctors checking to see if I had dilated the pain became to much to handle. The first epidural was given on day two...I was now numb from the belly down. I could feel pressure in the beginning and then pain started...the crazy thing is the epidural now wasn't working for the pain. In and our of sleep and enjoying having my family support by my side more contractions came. The second anesthetists arrived and gave me his cocktail mix into my epidural tube it worked for a little before he had to administer a second epidural. More medicine was given to me to dilate they checked 1 1/2 cm ummm I needed to make it to 10 and we were already on day two. Things became a blur after a while...I was drained and hungry I had been placed on a liquid diet and during the second day I was able to have solids. In and out of sleep and medicine to help me focus points on the ceiling and feeling like I was in a boiler room I was checked again. This time good news my water had broken however after being placed on some much I had no idea but then the bad news I was only 4cm and I had been complaining that I could feel the catheter they discovered I had preeclampsia. We were now going into day three my blood pressure was high and after pushing to release pain meds I started to throw up. At this point the focus points, dad to be coaching me, along with GG Ruth and G'm Knight the decision to have a c-section was happening. The nurse comes in with a release which they should have given to someone else first since I was all over the place. Andrew reviews with G'ma Knight and we sign. We are now at day three and I am wheeled out my God mom and Ruth kiss me and tell me next time we see you, you'll be a mommy. :) Andrew at this point is told there is a chance that he won't be able to go into the room with me but they would let him know. Thank you GOD everything worked out where he could be by my side. The anesthetists we had was awesome he and Dr. Su let me know what was happening calmed my breathing and helped Andrew and I get through. Andrew by my side... the process to get Ethan out began. Andrew nerves started telling me what was going on in the room. I had him talk to me about something else until we could hear Ethan's cry. Love my husband he starts talking about fantasy football ha ha whatever works right. He talked about plans for thanksgiving (don't really remember much after fantasy football but this is what Andrew told me) plans, a couples trip with our cousins and close friends one year. I heard a little cry Andrew step away took some pictures and rush back to my side. I had passed out from everything. They placed us in the recovery/monitoring room where we bonded with our son. I remember waiting to see him and wanting food badly. lol After two hours of recovery we were taken to the maternity and delivery floor where GG and G'm got to meet Ethan. What a priceless moment. More family and friends arrived and met Ethan for the first time...Andrew and I are truly blessed. Everything after Ethan arriving was a blur. Ethan James Towler Cheng was born November 19th 2014 at 11:39am. Andrew and I can't believe it... WE ARE PARENTS NOW!!!! Thank you God for the blessing of parenthood.
We have created a private page on Facebook to view pictures of Ethan and our family. We ask that you not share pictures from his website or his page on social media out of respect to Ethan, his parents, and our family. Thank you and love you all. Oxoxo So let's see what has been going on since the last post...We were blessed with the presences of family and friends at the absolutely cutest Dr. Seuss themed baby shower ever. G'ma and Fred (name hasn't been selected on what to call him yet) made the center pieces along with other decorative crafts. We also announced baby Cheng's name...for those of you who didn't make it our son's name is Ethan James Towler Cheng. After an eventful day it was nice to get together with family afterward and spend more quality time and eat....Ethan and his parents are definitely fans of FOOOOODDDD!!!! lol. We met up the next morning with family to enjoy more yummy food like dim sum. After saying our c-ya later's to the family Andrew and I spent a few no event weekends relaxing and catching up on birthday wishes we had missed like our cousin Nick. October hit and in spirit we celebrated great grandma Cheng's birthday and the 1 year anniversary of great grandma Towler's passing. Earlier this month we celebrated our flower girl Leila's 2nd birthday. She is growing up so fast. Andrew and I said that will be our little guy one day. Later in the week I received news of a dear family friends passing after battling cancer. It was hard to hear but I'm extremely grateful that my husband was with me when I found out and being to pray with me and for the family. I am so thankful to have a God fearing man by my side to provide me with peace. At our last doctors appointment (37 weeks full-term) we found out I'm all baby; he is in position and he weighs about 7.5lbs and is still growing. The best comment was she said "your not having a small baby" thanks doc just what I wanted to hear on my last day of work...lol. She also asked Andrew if he was a nurse since he knew so much from all of his daddy research he had been doing and school. (Smile) This week I received more news that my another loved one was in the hospital due to his colon collapsing and required emergency surgery. So he has been in prayers and thankfully we received news today that the surgery went well and he has been moved out of ICU. Life definitely doesn't slow down to give us a moment to catch our breath. Speaking of breath I'm struggle to get mine with Ethan stretching and pushing on my lungs. He is currently in a fetal position head is down butt is up high stomach on my left, knees are down bottom right and feet are high upper right. He is currently in my pelvic bone and pushes pretty hard to the point I have to stop or lay down with my feet up. I've been having to sleep on sofa or recliner and with an active little boy there are days I'm at a 3:00 am back to sleep around 6:00 am and back up around 8:30. So he is definitely preparing me for the little sleep I can look forward to.
How in the world could I forget about dad's second half marathon...Ethan and I were there and cheering dad on...GO DAD!!!! We are so proud of him. He has one more to earn his Tri-City metal and Ethan and I will be cheering dad on and at the finish line. So let's see what has been going on??? We are now 31 weeks...The Cheng's have had their first company event/amusement park experience at Universal Studio's although we weren't able to ride any rides we had a good time watching the shows and seeing how much Universal has changed since we had gone there as kids. It's been crazy at work with more responsibilities and trying to prepare for my leave (Oct. 17th). As you can see I'm starting to have swelling in my ankles and feet...sad face. Unfortunately that wouldn't be my last experience; the next experience would involve joint pain and numbness in my legs which scared Andrew and I. As tears ran down my face from the pain I was having...Andrew stayed by my side for as long as he could before heading to work after contacting the doctor to find out if we needed to go to the hospital or what what needed to be done. She informed us that little man was laying or pushing on nerves which was causing this experience so she advised us to have me rest in bed and put my feet up. While Andrew felt like he had some peace of mind he was unable to focus on work knowing the pain I was in. He came home with my favorite Orchid flower which made my day and brought a smile to my face. We were also very thankful G'ma happen to be in town and was able to help a great deal while Andrew was away. Thankful we haven't had another experience like that one but we continue to push through as I continue to experience many bodily changes. I continue to walk and I am still able to walk upstairs but I don't push myself and am starting to get help at work with tasks that are becoming more difficult for me during the unpleasant days of discomfort.
On another note for those of you who have a Facebook account my belly made a brief appearance with the hubby at our flower girl Soriya's 5th birthday party. Little guy had a great time hearing all the kids and eating the yummy food as he kicked me like crazy. :-) Gizmo lately has been very attached to me and loves laying on the belly or putting his ear against it. A few times Gizmo has been kicked and didn't like that very much but he still comes around for his 1:1 bonding time...it's very cute as you can see from the picture. We have begun receiving wonderful gifts from our family and friends...which we are so thankful for. We recently got a pack n play which we love. Little guys Auntie and Uncle Knight made him, his own 49er blanket that you all know who (dad) wanted once he saw it...ha ha. Baby Cheng might be sharing his blanket with dad during snuggle time. Recently my good friend Amber and my wonderful husband surprised me with a little baby Cheng shower with a few of my close friends that would be out of town the day of the shower which meant so much to me. They knew how sad I had been lately hearing that many family and friends were unable to celebrate with us. As an emotional person already but x 2 I had been crying. So for them to set up this wonderful surprise with more wonderful gifts from little guys aunties along with laughs and more yummy foods was truly priceless. It was so great to see these ladies and later get the news from G'ma that we would have a wonderful turn out of family and friends sharing in this joyous moment in our lives. God, we continue to thank you for the experiences and blessings within our journey into the next chapter you have in store for us with our son. The baby shower is around the corner it seems like we just told the family the news that we were expecting and just selecting a date for the shower and it's already going to be here. Andrew and I are so looking forward to seeing everyone and sharing in some great advice and laughs. Some awesome news is today Andrew and his friend made the decision to go to daddy boot camp...way different from parenting classes. He actually got to hold a 2 month old, change her, and learn how to calm her down from crying. So very, very, very proud of my husband. The other father's were very impressed with his skills and the fact that "this dad to be" had been reading and singing to little man since he developed ears. He even was asked to come back with his son to teach other father's to be. You bet this mother to be is one happy lady. To add to my excitement he received a completion award. Way to go dad!!! I know his son is as proud as I am of him. He is moving as I type so he might be thinking "that's my dad!" Well we have to get some rest dad has his spartan race tomorrow that we will be cheering him on....Goooooooooooooo Dad!!! July 6th 2014 marks our 1 year anniversary. What a blessed first year we have had. July 8th Mom, Dad, and bun in the oven got on a plane to celebrate our one year anniversary and celebrated the new addition coming to our family in November. We are so blessed!!! So let's see, we announced just before boarding the plane that we are expecting a BABY BOY whoo hoo!!! Now mom will have three guy’s dad, son, and (our dog) Gizmo...ha ha. We are still deciding on our little guys name but we have narrowed it down, that does not mean we will be sharing the news just yet. So for our little guy’s first plane ride in the oven he actually did really well on the flight to Cancun. But the flight back he was very active probably because he wanted to be in the pool or eating more yummy food. While in Cancun we wrote our son and told him all the yummy food he had along with the music he was super active during, in the lazy river mom did some water walking while dad floated and relaxed. The smoothies and non-alcoholic drink specials mom enjoyed while dad enjoyed the all inclusive alcoholic drinks (Dad's favorite is the Bob Marley). Overall we had a very peaceful trip which we enjoyed every minute of.
As for our little son's most up to date movements we are now able to feel his elbow, knees, punches, and drop kicks to mommy's bladder, along with his knee or elbow on the left side of my stomach. Of course dad gets a kick out of it because he does it more when dad places his hand on my belly or talks to him. They are already growing a father/son bond dad says "you in their son" and our little guy starts kick me like crazy...really you two...lol gotta love it. As for mom she has a little cough that we will discuss with the doctor Friday for our check up; along with the lower abdominal and lower left back side discomfort; making it difficult to find a comfortable position to sleep in. Mom's been wrapping a first aid bandage around the lower part of her belly to provide support to hold our growing baby boy up some. Other than the growing discomfort at the moment we all are doing well. We are currently 23 weeks (24 on 7/25) and the size of a Pomegranate or Mango. Now we are on to the next steps baby shower, looking into child care when G'ma comes to visit, and starting to set up his nursery area. Can't believe July is almost over, five months until 2015, and November we welcome our son... WOW time is moving fast. Baby Boy, we love you so much and are excited to meet you. Keep cooking in there :) oxoxoxo We are excited to share some wonderful news....A giggle, a root, a sweet little smile, we're happy to announce a baby boy and new 49er fan is coming in just a short while. :)
Some other exciting news is on June 26th at 10pm Andrew felt his son move for the first time it was a priceless moment and one that will be treasured. Short entry tonight but hopefully will write more before mom and dad share their one year anniversary/baby moon on a nice resort on the beach. Let's see what's new...still having heartburn, swollen feet, trouble sleep throughout the night. I've been using the snoogle pillow hubby got but I'm losing circulation in my leg's (sad face). I feel like I'm eating more but still making sure to walk and get back into the swing of prenatal yoga again. We got a stethoscope to listen to the baby's movement but so far just sounds like my inside digesting food...lol. I can feel more movement but dad is still unable to feel the movement. We believe he heard movement since our mover and shaker was really going last night but not sure. Saturday we went to hubby's company Angel game event...walked over to the tailgating area first and then over to the game. I did pretty good with the increased blood pumping to my heart this week because of the baby being the size of a mango (19 weeks) and continuing to grow. We had a great time! We walked back to the car not to far from the stadium when our mover and shaker decided to move while I was walking so we took more breaks along the walk to the car. But when I finally got in bed to rest I felt everything the walk and being in the sun for the amount of time we were. Heart is still beating super fast, swollen feet, and very uncomfortable pains. Hubby and I realized I had done too much. We tried Tylenol and a massage but at this point tears just started running down my face I was in pain and their wasn't much we could do to stop it so hubby just held me as I cried. Sunday morning came I was feeling a little better just moving slow. The fourth Sunday of every month I volunteer at church but made sure to take it easy. After finishing up in the nursery hubby and I headed to service and our mover and shaker loved the worship music. After service of course I was hungry especially after the pastor referred to food in his sermon. I wanted Nick's burrito (good spot in Los Alamitos) and Volcano french fries (spot across for hubby's high school) and oh was it good yummy. I'm getting hungry thinking about it right now as I write this. Ha Ha Ha!! We are excited to find out in 3 days what we are having. Baby Cheng you are so loved!!! Your grandma Pat is very excited as is your G'ma who is so excited to kiss and squeeze you and your G'pa (no name officially confirmed) just smiles knowing there is an addition to our family who is a mover and shaker when hearing his voice. You're aunties and uncles are also very excited to know what you are and see more pictures of you which we will get Sunday.
